Quick note this Thursday afternoon, as we wait to see if the Trucks & Xfinity cars get their practice or qualifying in with rain hitting at Martinsville today.
If they go, Trucks will run tonight at 8 PM on FS1, with Xfinity cars set for tomorrow night.
There are so far VERY few matchups posted for Trucks anywhere, and time will be tight if qualifying is much more delayed.......those lines may never make it up.
Right now, Kyle Busch is the -120 or so favorite at the major shops. Will Byron is running a Spire truck and lines out between 500 and +800, with normal series fave John Hunter Nemechek at +800 and two-time 2022 winner Zane Smith out around +1000.
With the Kyle Busch pricing at a premium, I feel pretty good about Top 5s on Byron & Nemechek around even money and Top 5s on both Smiths, Zane and Chandler at plus money. MGM had best lines at this writing, with the ones at DK priced terribly.
IF......IF, qualifying is rained out, Zane Smith should start from the pole. This is a track position race in its purest form. Is rare to see true upset winners at Martinsville. Defending champ Ben Rhodes would start around 3rd without qualifying, Kyle Busch would start second........and expensive fave Will Byron will have to fight from the back.
Byron can fight through it, but it adds another layer of complication and actually advantages the series regulars substantially if we do qualifying by math, not speed.
If Zane Smith is on the pole and qualifying is quashed, may want to sprinkle on him and Nemechek at best prices above to win. Enfinger is a recent winner here and is +1600 everywhere. Watch him for speed on in-play.
Will try to get some matchups out to subs if they post in time for the green flag.
